Is this Liz Truss’s ‘anti-growth coalition’?

Liz Truss, Britain's new prime minister, is facing increasing pressure to leave office following her catastrophic 'mini-budget' rejected by most MPs and members of the public. This led to her sacking Britain's Finance Minister (Chancellor of the Exchequer), Kwasi Kwarteng, who only lasted 38 days, to be replaced by Jeremy Hunt.

Truss's mantra is 'growth, growth, growth', and in her opinion, one of the main economic levers for this is encouraging much more house building, which also involves easing restrictions on where you can build. This has many constituents angry, as they see it as a threat to their green environments.

This video, from the BBC's flagship news programme Newsnight, looks at the reaction in the traditionally Conservative leafy suburb of Hersham in Surrey, near London.
